In the wake of the publication of the first official plot of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it seems that something has finally started to happen with regard to the highly anticipated trailer: the promotional video could in fact arrive very soon, as confirmed by director Destin Daniel Cretton.
There is a voracious appetite online for the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer, and for several reasons: so far, the film has managed to keep all its secrets intact, with an avalanche of rumors and speculation surrounding the little official information we have. As a result, fans can’t wait to get their hands (or eyes, in this case) on the first official images of Spider-Man: Brand New Day and start discovering what this fourth chapter of Tom Holland’s stand-alone saga has in store for Peter Parker.
Fans have been expecting a trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day “any day now” since December. And now, with the Super Bowl behind us, the preview for the web-slinger’s new adventure should be literally just around the corner. The confirmation, as mentioned at the beginning, came directly from director Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously wrote Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and the TV series Wonder Man for Marvel Studios (who had chosen him to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, before canceling that film and renaming it Avengers: Doomsday and entrusting him with Spider-Man): in an interview with Big Gold Belt Media, Cretton admitted that he understands fans’ desire to see the trailer and said that the promotional video is coming.
“I think it’s really funny how much people want a trailer. Of course it’s coming. It’s going to be really cool when it comes. It’s coming.”
Since the trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day wasn’t shown at the Super Bowl, it’s likely that Sony Pictures is saving the footage for one of its major releases coming in the next few weeks. Of course, as with all modern films, a teaser will be needed to herald the official extended trailer: note that National Superhero Day falls on April 28, and Marvel is likely to release a clip from Spider-Man: Brand New Day to entice fans. Furthermore, it is important to remember that the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home was released a few months before the film’s theatrical release, so Sony may want to repeat the same strategy.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026, but as you may remember, a first trailer was leaked online a few months ago. As we reported at the time, the video (whose CGI was not yet finished) introduced many new features, including: a new status quo for Peter Parker, confirming that no one remembers who he is after the events of No Way Home; an organic mutation, with a scene showing Peter emerging from a web cocoon and another showing that he can now shoot organic webs from his body without using web shooters, prompting him to seek the help of “Professor Banner” (Mark Ruffalo); the debut of Sadie Sink, with the Stranger Things actress appearing in the trailer as a mysterious character who, incredibly, remembers Peter’s true identity; the return of the Punisher, with Jon Bernthal reprising the role of Frank Castle, helping Spider-Man in a fight scene against The Hand; many new villains, with the leaked trailer showing brief sequences with Boomerang, Tarantula, and Scorpion (Michael Mando).
It is unclear whether the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer that will be released will be the same one that was leaked or whether a new version has been prepared in the meantime, but we will let you know!
